New Pump Installed

After much fret with the old pump, as the motor was going out, it was decided to install a new one. The pump room was given a fresh coat of paint and everything is up and running.

New Neighbors and Newly planted Trees bring Hope to Bear Island

Upon arrival this year we ordered several Birch and Norway Maple trees.  The old Birch stand is ending its life cycle and needs replenished.

 Here Gary is planting one of the Maples trees.

 



A new trees is planted next to Mrs Birch.  

New neighbors to Bear Island Lake are Tom and Janine. 

Spring Update

Photo taked from Grand Ely Lodge early this morning.  The leaves are budding, the birds chirpiing, with the sun coming over the horizon, life in the North Woods is good! 

2013 Ice Out

Signs of Spring April 28th

Looks as if Spring is in the air.  

April 28th and things are starting to thaw.  

It was 61 degrees in Ely at the time this picture was taken.  

Celebrating the Last Day of Winter

Today we celebrate the last day of Winter.  What does this mean?  At 8:30 am today it is 9 degrees and snowing; forecast tomorrow is low of -3 with highs reaching into the high teens with more of the same.
