The Bears are coming out of hibernation so check the updated pictures at the Bear Center.

Superior National Forest Seaplane Base

The Seaplane Base in Ely is used to protect the Superior National Forest and the BWCA. The September 2007 fire on Lake Mitchel, just north of Bear Island, was contained from this base.
